2009亞洲七人制橄欖球系列賽由ARFU首屆亞洲系列賽，仿造IRB世界七人制橄欖球系列賽
2009 Shanghai International 7s 中國 上海七人制(the Shanghai Sevens): 9月12-13日亞洲橄協賽事(an ARFU event).

This year will be held on the second weekend of September, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th. Breaking News. The tournament committee is presently discussing with the IRB how we can combine our event with the new IRB Asian Rugby Sevens Series. We aim to produce a total rugby festival comprising of two main tournaments, with exhibition games for Veterans (10s), Women and Kids rugby as well. The venue will be the new SRFC ground in Waigaoqiao, Pudong, Shanghai. The same place as 2008, with a different look, as the SRFC expands and develops into an exceptional multi sports facility.
